Among the many acts billed for the Coachella Music Festival is the bush, and performance of the British band in Indio, California, began a tour of 22 cities that the duration of U.S. and conclude May 21 in Pamona, California punk blues duo consists of vocalist / guitarist VV, aka Alison Mosshart (before the Florida punk group discount), and drummer / guitarist / vocalist Hotel, aka Jamie Hince. The couple met after the discount was dissolved in 2000, when VV and based London Hotel musician began exchanging demos via email. VV finally jumped into the pond and started writing together while at the same across the Atlantic.
The Kills released a demo of the same name in spring 2001 and received rave reviews from TapeOp Magazine and other critics. The pair then contributed "Restaurant Blouse" to the compilation 5 Rue Christine If the XXI century there would be necessary to invent it in 2002, just before his first EP, Black Gallo, came through Dim Mak that summer. The Kills took a break from recording their debut LP to play concerts in London and Glasgow Ladyfest and supporting Le Tigre on the tour in addition to touring the U.S. for eight weeks alone. On his return to London, and VV and Hotel are finished recording its debut long-Keep On Your Mean Side, was released by Rough Trade in the spring of 2003. Two years later The Kills released their second album, No Wow, and his third over, Midnight Bloom appeared in 2008.
The Kills forthcoming tour is in support of Midnight Bloom, while The duo will also be promoting songs from their forthcoming EP Black Balloon, which date is scheduled for April 14 release in the States (March 23 elsewhere). The Kills, who have traveled with the Black Keys and the Raconteurs at the last months, is expected to stop in Tucson, Boulder, Dallas, Austin, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Washington, DC, Brooklyn, Boston, Montreal, Toronto, Chicago, Detroit, Minneapolis and more. The Kills will be in good company at Coachella, as the bill with fellow Britons Paul McCartney and Amy Winehouse headlining. Coachella is McCartney's maiden appearance on the American festival, while Winehouse appeared again in 2007 when his star was rising (and had not been overshadowed by his turbulent personal life.)
Other big names scheduled to arrive usual place Coachella Empire Polo Field in Indio, California April 17-19 are the Killers, The Cure, Morrissey, Leonard Cohen, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and My Bloody Valentine, which were set to play the festival last year, but withdrew when he met recently and was not ready for the concert such a high profile. Once again, the Coachella lineup features artists from the indie rock and dance / electronic camps. Indie rockers The Hold Steady, Black Keys, Band of Horses and Fleet Foxes conducted over electronic acts Girl Talk, Thievery Corporation, the method Crystal and MSTRKRF.
