Valentine’s Day: A Celebration of Romance and Love

Ideas to create a valentine celebration that your valentine will always remember.

Why do we celebrate Valentine’s Day? Frankly, no one is sure. Some say that it is a day dedicated to a Saint Valentine; others say it is a modern day version of a spring-time fertility ritual. But no one really knows which is the real reason.

Regardless of the origin, modern day Valentine’s day is a day to celebrate the love and romance in your life. It is the day to tell your loved one how important they are to you. Most of us, due to the fast paced of modern life, give little more than what is ‘required’ on this day. We buy a card, give a gift and feel that our ‘obligation’ has been fulfilled. But if it is about fulfilling an obligation, then perhaps we have missed the point of Valentine’s Day.

If your other half is truly the most important person in your life, why not make this years valentines day the BEST Valentine’s Day Ever? How to do that? Create an evening your valentine will always remember. Start with a plan:

• Create an environment of love. Find the right music, select the right candles. The right atmosphere will set the tone for an evening of love.
• Wear your best during your celebration. Your best may be a suit, lingerie or nothing at all. But whatever you decide to wear, dress for the occasion.
• Put on your best perfume. Fragrance is important on this special day. The right perfume will help you to feel your best.
• Get your hair done for the occasion. Maybe it means a new hairstyle or just getting a trim. This will show your valentine you did your best.
• Select the right food and drink. Regardless of where you celebrate the evening, at home or in a restaurant, what is a celebration without the right food and drink?
• Be creative. Consider serenading your Valentine or reading your valentine a romantic poem. If that is too much, open up the photograph album and share your favorite photos taken together. Make a story for your valentine which includes the day you first set eyes on each other. Being creative and imaginative will let your valentine know how special they are to you.
• Considering calling the radio station and dedicating a song to your valentine. Let the world know how important they are to you.
• Find the right present. Again, imagination and creativity are key to finding the right Valentines Gift. Creativity can mean anything from sexy European Lingerie to a romantic trip for two to Las Vegas. Think about what will make your valentine feel special on this day and splurge. • Buy flowers. What is Romance without flowers? Buy your valentine their favorites. If they do not have favorites, long-stem red roses are always a safe bet.
• Find the right Valentine Card. Consider buying a blank card and creating your own special poem for your special Valentine.
• Consider decorating the house. Put up a banner dedicated to your valentine. Have a poster made with your Valentine’s photo on it and let them know you think that they are special.
• Prepare for a sensual or romantic evening for two. Consider buying a book or video on the art of sensual massage. Buy massage oil, scented candles, etc. Everything you will need to give each other a wonderful massage. Alternatively, buy bubble bath and make a valentines bubble bath for two.

This list can go on and on. Don’t stop here, come up with your own ideas. Use your imagination to make this day the BEST Valentine’s day ever, a day that you and your Valentine will remember forever.
